- Liquid foods (such as milk, compote juice, fruit juice, soup) can be started 4 hours after the operation.
- Food should be given little by little. Overloading the stomach suddenly can cause nausea and vomiting. On the second day, you can switch to normal foods.
- After the first day, normal daily activities can be done easily.
- The patient does not feel the presence of the tube inserted in his ear, does not feel discomfort from it, and continues his daily life as it is. Running, jumping, moving does not cause any damage to the tube or dislodge it.
- The most important point to be considered is not to get water in the ear when entering the sea, pool or bath until the tube falls off.
- The ear should be plugged with vaseline cotton or earplugs and bathed.
- Ear cleaning should never be done with cotton litter.
- Under normal conditions, a slight bloody discharge may occur in the first 1-2 days due to the surgical procedure, this is natural. Dense, yellow-green colored and foul-smelling discharge that occurs later is a sign of inflammation. You should consult your doctor without delay.
- Under normal conditions, the first post-operative check-up is 1 week later.
- The tubes stay in your ear for an average of 4-6 months. During this period, you may need to come for a check-up every 6-8 weeks.
- Tubes that do not fall on time will be removed by your doctor.
